Anna received her Masters in Clinical Social Work from George Mason University. She has recently completed requisite supervised on the job training and is currently awaiting Virginia Board of Social Work approval for taking the Licensure Examination to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). The majority of her career has been working with individuals and families with disordered eating and poor body image. She gained this experience in residential treatment for women with eating disorders as well as intensive in-home services for families. While working in residential treatment Anna developed a 9-week body acceptance program.
She also has experience working with co-occurring issues that include: eating disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. She has worked with clients in a variety of settings, which includes: residential treatment for women with eating disorders, intensive out-patient for substance abuse and mental health, therapeutic day treatment program for high school students, intensive in-home services and private practice.
Anna uses a strengths-based, holistic and person-centered approach to aid adolescents, adults and their families in achieving a healthy working family system. She utilizes the frameworks of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative therapy and Structural Family Therapy in her practice.
