Tammy is the Office Manager for the practice. Tammy is a client-centered and emotion-focused counseling professional assisting clients with life changes, eating disorders, mood disorders, problems with self-esteem, and maladaptive coping skills. Through individual and group counseling, she enjoys helping clients identify and use their strengths to regulate negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in their daily lives. Tammy uses an eclectic approach with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. Tammy also has become more of a Trauma-Informed and Neuropsychological clinician through advanced training.
She has over 20 years of school counseling, school administration, and community-based counseling experience and is a certified personal trainer and sports nutritionist through the American Fitness Professionals Association. She has a BA in Psychology and Family Issues from James Madison University, an MA in Clinical Counseling from Liberty University and Virginia Commonwealth University, and MEd in Educational Administration and Supervision from Shenandoah University. Tammy is also a PsyD candidate in Clinical Psychology at California Southern University.
Tammy is also responsible for scheduling clients at Total Health Concepts, so you will likely interact with her prior to your appointments with any of our therapists. She can help answer any questions regarding our services.
She is a member of the American Counseling Association and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals Foundation through which she is pursuing the Certified Eating Disorder Specialist credential.
