Babatunde Adekson, PhD, LPC, NCC,CSAC
Babatunde is a graduate of the counseling and counselor education doctoral program at the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY and is also a graduate of the master’s program in mental health counseling program also from the University of Rochester. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Saint Bonaventure University in upstate New York. He utilizes an integrative perspective in counseling and manages sessions with clients using a warm Rogerian therapeutic style coupled with CBT as well as other evidence-based practices.
He believes in empowering clients to assume the roles that will enhance their mental health status and believes in the efficacy of therapy to accomplish treatment goals. Therapy works under the right conditions and building and maintaining an adequate therapeutic relationship with the use of skills building and partnering around recovery themes between the client and the therapist provides the opportunity for lasting therapeutic change.
Babatunde has extensive experience working with individuals who come to therapy for co-occurring substance abuse, addictions, and mental health challenges. And he has extensive clinical experience working with adolescents, young adults, and adults with a variety of life challenges, including trauma, depression and anxiety, and emotional and behavioral issues.
