Dani Hulse, MS, Resident in Counseling

Dani received her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling in June 2020 and is currently a Ph.D. student in General Psychology. Dani is a Resident in Counseling pursuing her LPC Licensure. Her clinical focus is on trauma, complex PTSD, anxiety and mood disorders, military service-related stress, dissociative disorders, and crisis intervention with families and individual adults, adolescents, and children. Her passions lay in helping clients understand their past, embrace their present, and move into a flourishing future. Her unique strength’s-based approach draws from her experiences in outpatient, inpatient, crisis, and in-home therapy and aims to identify the strengths within the individual, the family, and the community that can provide an individual the tools to overcome emotional distress.

Working from a brain and body perspective, her telehealth approach incorporates a dynamic combination of psychoeducation, mindfulness, and several therapeutic modalities including expressive art, solution-focused and reality-based, play, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), and somatic therapyShe believes in a greater understanding of the body and mind and their ability to work as one, healing can be found and healthy thinking and behaviors developed.

Dani is also educated in assessment and testing, career counseling, parenting, sexual and gender-related issues, eating disorders, dual-diagnosis, and homeopathic care. She is currently pursuing her Crisis Intervention Specialist Certification and belongs to American Psychological Association (APA), as well as the American Counseling Association (ACA) including membership in the AARC, ACC, AMCD, and MGCA divisions. She is also an active member of the Chi Sigma Iota Chapter of the Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International and also The National Honor Society of Leadership and Success. Dani is currently a Resident Counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

We are a provider for Carefirst/BlueCross and Tricare. We are still accepting new clients and are offering phone and video sessions via Zoom and in person.
