Psychotherapist
J.R. Lippold, MA, MSW, LGSW, LCSW
J.R. has extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families
in crisis, as well as adolescents, young adults, and members of the LGBTQ
community. His unique and direct approach draws from his multifaceted
experiences to provide insight into how environmental, mental/emotional, and
health-related factors can influence an individual’s thoughts, feelings, and
behaviors – all factors that can lead to emotional distress, anxiety, and
depression.
J.R. partners with individuals to uncover their strengths to maximize self-
worth, self-confidence, self-sufficiency, and one’s identity. As a Certified
Trauma-Informed therapist, he utilizes techniques to minimize the body’s
negative reactions to external stimuli so one’s mind can process and
understand how to overcome emotional barriers.
He incorporates a combination of psychoeducation, psychodynamic,
motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), strengths perspective,
solution-focused reality, talk therapies, and others to teach coping skills and
resiliency to improve one’s outlook, relationships, and quality of life.
