Tikycia Matos, MSW, Intern
Tikycia is working towards earning her Master’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in the summer of 2022, and plans on working towards LCSW Licensure after graduation. Tikycia has experience working with individuals and groups and has worked in a variety of treatment settings, including outpatient counseling, community support, and military childcare.
Tikycia is passionate about using a range of therapeutic techniques to assist clients with disordered eating, trauma, anxiety, depressive, and mood disorders. She has experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Holistic Therapy. She also includes mindfulness as a means of assisting clients in finding calm in the present moment. Tikycia meets people where they are and strives to encourage and support those she works towards developing positive coping skills, time management skills, and building healthy relationships.
