Carter Weeman, MS, Resident in Counseling

Hope, growth, strength, and increased happiness are possible. Taking the first step toward healing and continuing to persevere through adversity requires courage, and you don’t have to do it alone. I believe human beings are innately driven toward happiness and health, but difficult experiences, unmet needs, and self-defeating beliefs can get in the way of this. Carter wants to hear your story and help you overcome obstacles, experience greater happiness, regain a sense of control of your life, and free yourself from self-defeating thoughts and behaviors.

Carter has a strength based, holistic, and non-judgmental approach to therapy. He has extensive experiences working with individuals, couples, and families. He specializes in the processing and healing of complex trauma associated from both childhood wounding as well as wounding experienced through life experiences. He believes the relationship between client and therapist is crucial, and it’s essential that clients and/or their child(ren) feels heard, respected, and accepted.

His goal is to create a space for people to explore and process their experiences, identify their needs, and move in a direction of healing. He believes individuals are not defined by their emotions, past experiences, past traumas, or self-defeating thoughts – everyone has the capacity to change and be the architects of their desired life.

Carter has a masters degree in Clinical Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. He is currently a doctoral student, working towards his Doctor in Psychology, PsyD.
