Courtney is experienced in hospice and oncology social work, working with individuals going through a loss of a loved one, vicarious trauma, or diagnosed with a medical illness. She is passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community, and has a personal insight into the challenges and stressors of military families.
Courtney enjoys working with teenagers and adults of all ages. She specializes in anxiety, depression, and grief counseling. She explores past traumas and underlying issues which can often lead to physical and emotional disorders.
Courtney uses an interdisciplinary approach incorporating CBT, psychodynamic, and mindfulness. She enjoys taking a nonjudgmental approach to therapy, being mindful of addressing spiritual and cultural considerations, and helping individuals trust their own capacity to discover a new source of values that lead to a meaningful life. Courtney puts an emphasis on building self esteem, self confidence, and positive coping skills focusing on strength and resiliency.
Courtney achieved her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
