Isha Sengupta, MS, Resident in Counseling

Healing is a journey rather than a destination. Isha strives to be a co-passenger on this journey by providing her clients with a safe space in which they feel unconditionally accepted and actively heard. She uses a strength-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach to therapy, to enable empowerment and foster resiliency in her clients.

While Isha strives to tailor her therapeutic style to each client’s unique needs and goals, she has experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Existential Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Acceptance, and Commitment Therapy as well as mindfulness-based interventions to facilitate coping, recovery, and healing. She is especially passionate about providing care that is anti-oppressive, identity-affirming, and multiculturally competent in nature.

Isha has experience working with trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, life transitions, self-esteem struggles, body image, and cultural identity navigation. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in outpatient and school settings in both India and the U.S., using both individual and group modalities.

Isha completed her Bachelors in Psychology and Gender Studies from the University of Hong Kong and her Masters in Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently a resident in counseling working towards gaining her LPC licensure.
