Jenny Yu Riemer, MSW, Supervisee in Social Work
Jenny Yu Riemer received a Master’s of Social Work from Boston University and is currently working towards LCSW Licensure in both MA and VA. Jenny is a skilled, compassionate, EMDR certified, trauma-informed and collaborative clinician who has experience with individuals of all ages and identities, specializing in work with youth, adolescents, families and members of LGBTQIA+ community. She has experience and passion for supporting individuals with complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and stress due to life and/or other transitions. She has experience utilizing a range of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Play and Art Therapy, but focuses on meeting her clients on where they’re at and matching their interests and strengths to interventions.
Jenny’s previous experience includes working with individuals and groups in a variety of treatment settings including outpatient therapeutic services, residential treatment facilities, supervised visitation services and schools. She also utilizes her experience as a competitive athlete, sports-based therapist, various trainings and mindfulness practices through movement-based therapy (when fitting) to support client’s progress towards their goals. Utilizing cultural awareness and holistic approaches, Jenny supports her clients in gaining skills and confidence to achieve their goals.
